Blood Of the Maple

ED: Have you secured the holy trinity, Satan?

GEORGE: Ready and loaded. I even nailed two slices of French toast to the doorpost so the snow, ice, and freezing rain will pass over me.

ED: I’m glad we have our milk, bread, and eggs, too. Jen and Leslie are safe; we all are. Just don’t forget the syrup. It’s the critical element.

GEORGE: Syrup?

ED: Of course. The storm will only pass over us if we smear the blood of the maple on the French toast and door.

(GEORGE runs to the cabinet and opens the cabinet door and takes out the maple syrup. He marches proudly around waving the bottle.)

GEORGE: Hal-le-fucking-lujah. I do have the blood of the maple. I am saved!

ED: It’s a good thing I reminded you. You could’ve been buried under two inches of snow. Though you would’ve been comforted by the French toast.

GEORGE: On the way home from the gym, as sparse flakes were a flutterin’ around, I noticed that the Super Fresh and Shop Rite were fucking packed with people getting milk, bread, and eggs because we may get a few inches of snow followed by freezing rain. Won’t be able to leave home for days, but we got our French toast and syrup! We will live!

ED: I’m far too tense for such a life and death mission. Luckily, Jen dealt with the insanity this afternoon…even though the snow ain’t due for another nine hours, at 1:30 the registers were already six people deep. Yeah, Collegeville is a people capital; yeah, it’s Friday; lots of people do shop on Fridays, usually we’re amongst them...but every fucking winter, every threat of a storm, the clueless masses stock up on the staples…I saw a woman on the news with five gallons of milk! Five fucking gallons?

GEORGE: I have always said it is a racket between the supermarkets and the accu-guess stations: milk the ratings and move product during the retail blight of January, February, and early March!

ED: Who knew the important of French toast! You never see it on the pyramid of nutrition.

GEORGE: Constantine and the Counsel cut that from the Bible…people couldn’t handle the truth.

ED: You seem to be in true Satan mode.

GEORGE: Yes, my humble narrator…the moloko plus horrorshow is just kicking in! But I gotta run Henry...See ya...remember the Holy Trinity…more snow is on the way.

Live Free or Live in Bushworld

RUTHANN: Live free or live in Bushworld! No way I can live in Bushworld!

GEORGE: The left wing bleeding hearts want more humane death sentences: even lethal injection is to extreme now for convicted mass murders, serial killers, and rapists. Huh? The criminal in this case only raped and tortured three innocent teenage girls with a broomstick and hammer before killing them, and then he finished his fun with dismemberment, easier to dispose of the meat as he said. He went through the judicial system on the taxpayers’ dime, was found guilty without a doubt, and got his fair and speedy trail. Yet more taxpayers money is being spent worrying if lethal inject is cruel and unusual punishment for him. I know what the constitution says, but why does this guy deserve even more legal protection?

RUTHANN: If we live in such a civilized society, why is he so barbaric? Three young women are dead, and the bleeding hearts care more about the killer than the victims he killed, know his name, not the dead teenagers. I prefer something more Draconian. Just rape the killer with a broomstick and beat him to death with a hammer, then dismember him. The families of the victims will at least know he won’t rape, kill, and dismember anyone else’s daughters…Ever!…may not stop other broken people from killing, but the victims do get some closure…Justice…until we live in that civilized world that some people claim we already live in…

GEORGE: Morality, justice, religion, and hypocrisy drive me nuts. I do not want to be an atheist, but the theists drive me nuts…I do relate to Zen and Tao much better than Christianity…I grew up Catholic…Roman Catholic…dad died when I was seven…and god protects the ones whose lives he fucks up…part of the we are all shit and sinners deal, born of an omnipotent god, in his image, yet we reek of original sin, and we had no say in the egg and sperm waltz.

RUTHANN: If I had a vote, a say in being born, I would have returned the gift I never wanted or asked for…because upon birth, I’m given original sin just because its part of the Cecil B. DeMille production…just to weird for me...Plus, it’s funny; old school Catholics just ain’t in no more. Now we have all the Protestant-lite flavors…what if Jesus and God hate the whole Protestant Reformation...but my favs are the Born Again Yappists who believe every single word in the Bible is absolute truth…talking snakes...but I wonder if they know “In the beginning” was not a phrase in the Hebrew language of the time…a better translation would be like “Starting out in the watery chaos,” if I remember right.

ED: Still not one shred of evidence King Solomon ever played the game, no ark of the covenant, or ark, no grail…who needs facts when you have faith…but the Yappists know they are right, their god is bigger and better than every other Christian or non-Christian god, their Jesus rules….the arrogance of people to actually believe they are the only ones who are saved…have the puzzle all put together…the Fundamentalist Yappists, Pat Robertson, Ann Coulter, Bush and Dick, all made in the twisted image of their god.

RUTHANN: King Bush and the Fundamentalists’ homophobic and misogynistic god…if every word in the Bible is true, then the First Epistle to Timothy proves god is a misogynist. “I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent.” Even the Fundamentalists are now following god’s misogyny, and they have the balls to mock the Catholics…total hypocrisy…and the Catholics will let pedophiles teach god’s word but not women. Women still cannot teach god’s word to men. No way god will silence women!

GEORGE: I detest that my old Catholic goombahs are still totally against women in their all male vocation…but they still protect and reassign pedophiles who can spread god’s word and love…it’s in the by-laws…we don’t have to tell the police…molest away…god is on our side…keep them woman silent though…no wonder I am still a born again atheist. I was a born again agnostic for a long time, but a true agnostic must believe in something, and it became harder and harder for me to put into words what I actually might believe in…now, I have no fucking clue anymore, but ban religion, save lives.

Republican Hypocrisy

ED: First, for you Satan…The limits of my language are the limits of my world.

GEORGE: Brav-fucking-oh Henry…but Wittgenstein was gay…he is banned in Bushworld…you are now also banned!!!

ED: After I read the paper the other day, I got my cardboard and pencils and got busy. Be Republican, It is easier than thinking…and they are proud of their new motto. “He may be morally bankrupt, but Mark Foley didn’t kill anyone.” Their new sound byte, their new chant as they defend Mark Foley and compare him to Ted Kennedy…Dennis Hastert said the same thing: “I didn’t protect a criminal. Foley didn’t kill anyone.”…What great campaign strategy. We’re Republicans: Hypocrites, but we didn’t kill anyone!…funny how the Republicans are so anti-gay and pro-family until it affects the war machine leading into an election, then they embrace gay behavior. Foley just has a drinking problem. Once out of the rahab, his craving for young males will disappear!!!

Funny how Republicans don’t want the government to interfere in the raping of the land, air, or water, but women’s bodies, gay marriage, and sodomy nicely fit their agenda…Why should the government legislate sexuality?…Why should the government tell a woman what she can and cannot do to her body?…How can a government say to a woman, too bad your pregnancy was the result of incest and rape, abortion is no option…life is sacred at all costs…just suck it up…Be Republican, here’s your bootstraps!

The Government of South Dakota decrees a woman has to live with the pregnancy of incest and rape…arrogant enough to tell a woman you have to love the child forced upon her by a rapist for nine short months. The arrogance to force a child to know your mom never wanted you simply because you were forced on her by a criminal, maybe even her father, your grandfather…but your life is sacred, just forget your dad is in jail…just visit him on Father’s Dad at the penitentiary…biological parenthood is over-rated anyway…your next mom and dad will love you dearly. Welcome to the ownership society…here’s your bootstraps…welcome to luck of the draw foster care world, and the nightmare of the child welfare system…funny how the sanctity of life for Republicans is only from conception to birth. Because after your precious birth, don’t look to the GOP for assistance with health care, education, or housing, for they will only hand you more bootstraps. And if you run afoul of the law and really fuck up, remember that Republicans love the death penalty. Suddenly, your sacred birth ain’t so sacred.

Amazing too that the blue states are on the coasts and are the targets of the terrorists and not thrilled with Bushworld…However, all the Republican Bubbas in red-middle and southern America, rednecks with shotguns, rifles, corn silos, and cattle all feel safe in Bushworld…can you imagine? Like the terrorists are recruiting suicide bombers to launch launch jihad on corn silos and cattle…Bush is our Bubba…

Kill All The Gay People

To H. L. With Everything

I have run out of things to say, so I will let H. L. Mencken speak for me. Even though he wrote mainly in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, he words are still right on target.

Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under.

Giving every man a vote has no more made men wise and free than Christianity has made them good.

The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office.

The men the American public admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try to tell them the truth.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right.

On July 26, 1920, the acerbic and cranky scribe wrote in The Baltimore Sun: " . . . all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most easily (and) adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum. The presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Protection From What?

If Bush's Protect America Act and the Patriot Act along with the warrantless wire-taps are so legal, why do the communication companies need amnesty and protections? Seems to me the communication companies would only need protection and amnesty if their eavesdropping and information gathering was illegal...and even more sickening, is the Dems are going to cave in like the spineless creatures they are and give King George freedom to spy on Americans all he wants, 4th amendment be damned...

and the right wing lunatic fringe continues to attack a 12 year boy recovering from a coma and car accident...just shows that the party of morals and family and religion only thinks life is sacred when it is in the womb...pro-life...pro-life until the life is born, then if the sacred life needs health care or education or assistance suddenly the life ain't so sacred anymore...and if you don't speak Bushspeak, we will attack and smear you for not following along...just shows how bankrupt the right wing's view of religion really is...the hypocrisy never ends in Bushworld...

Random Rants

The Republicans filibuster and the Dems don't have enough votes to stop the filibusters...and the Repubs walk lock step with King George...the Dems only have a majority in theory...Dems 50...Repubs 49 plus Lieberman in the Senate..simple math, 49 is not 60...60 votes are needed to stop filibusters...Dems do not a high percentage at all...not sure what math you use to say that Congress has the highest percentage of Liberals...remember, there are Republicans who vote in the Congress too...the Repubs are part of the lowest approval rating too!!!! Remember the Repubs voted against giving the troops equal time off for equal time served...the Dems voted for giving the troops the rest they deserve...the Repubs didn't...the Dems only have so many votes...votes count not yakking...the Dems do not have the 60 votes they need to stop filibusters...sure the Dems are ineffective, but the Repubs blindly support the King and keep filibustering...

Who needs freedom of the press...the NSA tried to manipulate the press into not reporting of all the NSA's crimes and misdemeanors under the Patriot Act...another shocking realization in Bushworld...NOT! The founders and framers must be thrilled...quieting the press makes it easier to spy on law abiding citizens when they don't know what the government is doing...Bushworld equals no freedom of speech unless you speak Bushword...no freedom of the press unless the press speaks Bushworld...no fourth amendment but since you have nothing to hide, the government can gather all the information it wants about you without dissent...and make sure to keep the press quiet, so on one knows...NSA and Bushworld...agree to be silenced...just like Moveon.org...

I am not sure our racist, sexist, homophobic country can handle a woman or black president...sad but true...throw in the woman is Hillary and the black man's name sounds like Osama, and things get even worse...I worry that Hillary will energized the Republican party simply because of all the hatred for Hillary and Bill...I don't think the Repubs love their candidates either, but at least they can stop Hillary from being president...can you imagine all the Whitewater madness to resurface...Vince Foster...Monica...the I am not going to sit around and bake cookies quote...Rove is already planning the attack ads...truly sad...and I agree about the "second" tier candidates...why is so little time focused on them??? Money...the money goes to Hillary, Obama, and Edwards...I have felt all the campaign money should go into a pool...no money goes to an individual candidate...only into a Democratic and Republican pool...all the candidates in the Dem pool equally split the money and all have an even amount of money to spend...buy a party but not individuals..hell, the parties already have they respective buyers...give Kucinich and others a fighting chance...enough ranting...

The Fear Game Continues....

As I type this, I will be responsible for the killings of Americans in the future...the thought of even questioning the implications of the FISA Act, the Patriotic Act, and the Protect American Act, will cause more innocents Americans to die. I have probably already killed ten more American according to Mike McConnell, the Director of National Intelligence, just by saying I believe in the fourth amendment and don't want it revoked by King George's executive privilege...the same Mike McConnell who stated the warrantless wiretaps lead to the capture of terrorists in Germany then had to recant and say, we actually had warrants in the case of the German terrorists...Don't question, don't use your free speech, we don't even need the fourth amendment...give up your rights and blindly follow along and trust the Bush administration that was asleep at the wheel on 9-11…we are just suppose to show blind faith in McConnell, Bush, and Cheney, et al...bin Laden, al Qaeda, the Taliban, the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan, in Iraq, and Iran, and around the world are not as much as a threat to our freedoms as the people in the Bush administration...Bush's executive privilege conquers even the constitution...why not just pass legislation voiding the whole concept and replace it with Bushworld's Bill of Rights which only guarantees the second amendment....who needs the stinkin’ bill of rights…

Would this administration really manipulate intelligence about an imminent attack on Washington, DC in early August to influence the committee members’ votes at the forum on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, FISA? Would our government use fear to makes its warrantless wiretaps program a permanent part of our everyday life? Then after the votes are taken and the FISA acts lives for another six months, the government lap dogs tell the committee members that the intelligence was not credible...Would this administration really use fear tactics to advance its agenda? Not Bush or Rove or Chaney….would never happen…I must be dreaming...

Republicans Own The War Now

The war will end only when the Republican Senators stand up and vote against King George...The Dems, ineffective and clueless for sure, just don't have the votes...The Dems cannot get 60 votes to stop a filibuster or 66 to override a veto...the Dems majority in the Senate is 50 to 49 plus Lieberman...not a real majority at all...until the 2007-2008 Republican versions of Goldwater, Scott, and Rhodes emerge to challenge Bush, the war will drag on...remember, Rove threw himself and Gonzales under the bus, so the Repubs would continue to support the war...and doesn't the whole Move-On flap smell like something turd blossom Rove would emit...I guess that pesky first amendment doesn't matter anymore either...free speech applies only if you agree with Bushworld...even Admiral Fallon disputes the success of the surge...as for the Repubs, Lugar, Warner, and Collins, etc, all yap about Bush's failed policies and bringing troops home, but when it is comes time to vote, despite all the yapping, they continue to vote to back King George...like not supporting the troops again by not backing the Webb-Hagel bill...giving the troops equal time off for equal time served...the Repubs shot down the bill twice, but claim to support the troops..the only way to keep troops in Iraq now is to keep extending their deployments and shortening their down time after their tours...way to support the troops Repubs and Bush...the Dems majority is more in name than in numbers...the Repubs own the war now...the blood is on their hands...

and it is amazing that the Repubs presidential candidates have no time to debate for black or Hispanic audiences...the Repubs just spurn minorities...the great white party of bigots...they take their clues from Bush...New Orleans and Katrina, weakening of Brown v. Board of Education, ring any race bells...the grand old white party...they don't need no stinkin' minorities...even Newt Gingrich said the Repub candidates are making a mistake by avoiding debating for the black and Hispanic communities...let racism rage on...Jena Six ring a bell...

Hypocrisy Lives on

Bush and the Republicans once again failed to support the troops. Jim Webb's bill to allow the troops to spend more time at home, equal time at home for equal time at war was once again blocked in the Senate...Yet Bush and the Republicans support the troops, support extending their deployments, support the increasing divorce rate among the troops, support keeping the troops there as long as possible without any relief...Congress gets breaks, just not the troops...hypocrisy....

Silver-spoon Bush wants to veto the bill to provide health care for the four million children who don't have health care...Bush and the Republicans think life is sacred only when it is in the womb...once that sacred life is born, Bush and the Repubs want nothing to do with supporting this supposed sacred life...here are some bootstraps, pull yourself up...to bad your parent(s) cannot afford health care...just deal with it….don’t look to Bush or the Repubs to help support your supposed sacred life...just more hypocrisy from Bush and the Repubs...

September Alive and Well

Hello to all who venture onto my blog...Yes, I am alive and well...I have just have run out of rants!!!
I have been working on a play called Broken and a collection of short stories which doesn't have a title yet...I have a feeling that since Congress is back in session, with the Betray-eus report about to be fabricated, funding for the war votes happening soon, and more debates as election 2008 drags on, I will be blogging away again...until then...it is always better to have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy....

I've Had Enough

First of all I am tired of hearing when we leave Iraq, it will be a safe haven for al Qaeda…Bush has already provided a safe haven for al Qaeda on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan….the Sunni are only about 20% of the population of Iraq…and even the everyday Sunni are fighting the Sunni in al Qaeda in Iraq…the Shiite which are over 60% of the population will never sit back and let al Qaeda run Iraq…al Sadr’s Shiite militia will never let al Qaeda run Iraq…the Shiite and Sunni are life long sworn enemies…Saddam ruled Iraq from 1979-2003, the Baath party from 1968-2003, does anyone really think the Shiite are just going to sit back and let radical Sunnis rule Iraq after 35 years of Sunni rule??? The Shiite don’t even want the everyday Sunnis to have a say in running Iraq…more fear mongering by Bush, Cheney, Rove, and the 27% who keep drinking the koolaid….

The real al Qaeda, which Bush has let reform, Bush even said bin Laden is not a priority, are the real enemy in the war on terror…whether we win or lose in Iraq, the terrorists in the safe haven of the Pakistan and Afghanistan border will continue to plot against America while we waste resources and our military fighting a civil war in Iraq…remember, even the Pentagon stated Iraq and Saddam played no role in the 9-11 attacks…the al Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan are the terrorists we should be fighting…Once we change our strategy in Iraq, maybe then we will start fighting the real war on terror not the imagined one in Iraq…

Secondly, The first amendment states American citizens have the right to express their grievances against the government…as a life long Independent, I am fed up with the lies, deception, and blatant disregard for the wishes of the American people from Bush and Cheney. I am tired of Bush and Cheney’s blatant disregard for the constitution. I have a constitutional right as an American to express my grievances against Bush and Cheney…How does that make me unpatriotic, hate America?…When Clinton was Commander in Chief with our troops in Somalia and Bosnia, and the right wing attacked him, I bet none of you felt unpatriotic…When you never supported Clinton, did you hate your country? Only when a Republican President is questioned are people unpatriotic…and what Democrat, Independent, American wants to have more Americans killed in our streets?…What Democrat, Independent, American wants al Qaeda to continue to have a safe haven to plot attacks against America? I, we, have a constitutional right to be heard and not sit back and watch Bush run our military into the ground because we love our country and are patriotic when we express ourselves…just like the right wing expressed itself against Clinton…Did you hate your country when you wanted Clinton impeached?…I am just sick of hearing the koolaid drinkers say that I am not patriotic because I don’t trust, believe, or have any faith in Bush and the Repubs to do the right thing anymore…I don’t buy into the fear…and the if we don’t fight them in Iraq we will fight them here rhetoric…the real terrorists in Pakistan and Afghanistan are the terrorists who will attack us here….not the al Qaeda in Iraq…the latest NIE even stated that al Qaeda in Iraq is not a threat to America…When we stop combat operations in Iraq, al Qaeda will lose its recruiting edge…bin Laden will start losing recruits…

Thirdly, our troops cannot end the civil war in Iraq…our troops, our politicians, our President cannot stop Shiite from fighting Sunni, from Sunni fighting Sunni, from Shiite fighting Shiite…only the Shiite and Sunni leaders can stop the civil war…I am all for a aggressive war on terror, have been since 9-11, and I will always be…I am against a made up war on terror in Iraq…four and a half years after mission accomplished and what has Bush accomplished besides make the world more dangerous, help al Qaeda recruit new members in Iraq, and gave al Qaeda a safe haven in the mountains of Pakistan and Afghanistan…al Qaeda was not in Iraq when we invaded…Iraq and Saddam had nothing to do with 9-11…and the 27% who still believe those lies watch Fox Made Up News, read the Dredge Report, and believe whatever lies Bush and Cheney spew…show me any evidence from the Pentagon stating that al Qaeda was in Iraq before Bush and Cheney and Dumsfeld destabilized a sovereign nation …friends of mine who did Army intell in Iraq after 9-11, life long Republicans, told me that their was no evidence that al Qaeda was in Iraq…they said there were training camps in Kurdistan, but they were empty when we invaded Iraq…why would they lie?…show me some proof that al Qaeda was in Iraq when we invaded…there is none…even the Pentagon has said al Qaeda was not in Iraq when we invaded the country…Saddam hated anyone competing on his turf…the only connection between Saddam and bin Laden is they are both Sunni….end of story……I was even against even going to Afghanistan after 9-11…Afghanistan didn’t attack America…Bush and the military had no clue how to fight a war against a terrorist organization hiding in the desolation of the Afghanistan mountains…the war on terror, on the Taliban, on al Qaeda, will not be won with bombs and troops and force…the war will be won with special forces, black ops, and intelligence…small, strategic strikes…The war on terror will be won and lost based on intelligence…Bush and intelligence are two words that just don’t go together…

My dad was killed in Vietnam…don’t tell me I am unpatriotic…I support the troops…always will…and when a war is justified, I will even support the politicians who want the war…but the war on Iraq, like the war in Vietnam, was fought based on lies and deception…the metaphor of the dominoes will fall has been replaced with the axis of evil. How can anyone support the war machine behind both wars? And not supporting the war machine politics is totally different than not supporting the troops…I realize the right wing just cannot understand such a simple idea… …and if our military and government are so patriotic, when did a Appeals Court chastise the Department of Veterans Affairs on Thursday and order the VA to finally pay retroactive benefits to Vietnam War veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange and contracted a form of leukemia…The VA agree in 2003 to extend benefits to Vietnam Vets with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The VA still hasn’t paid the Vets what they are owed….the case action suit was filed in 1986 and in 1991 the government was still haggling over a technically instead of taking care of the troops…the governmental obstructionist bureaucratic opposition has drug on for 16 years…talk about not supporting the troops…like Bush not giving the troops the armor they needed…like Bushworld not giving troops the training they needed…like Bush cutting the VA budget during war times…like the Walter Reed fiasco…like the Repubs voting against the Webb amendment giving troops equal time off for the time they were in combat…and I don’t support the troops by speaking out…I am unpatriotic for speaking my mind…Enough…

King George, The Censor

The first U.S. surgeon general appointed by President Bush accused the administration on Tuesday of political interference and muzzling him on key issues like embryonic stem cell research. "Anything that doesn't fit into the political appointees' ideological, theological or political agenda is ignored, marginalized or simply buried," Dr. Richard Carmona, who served as the nation's top doctor from 2002 until 2006, told a House of Representatives committee. "The problem with this approach is that in public health, as in a democracy, there is nothing worse than ignoring science, or marginalizing the voice of science for reasons driven by changing political winds. The job of surgeon general is to be the doctor of the nation, not the doctor of a political party," Carmona added. The American people just don't matter to King George, over 70% of Americans are in favor of stem cell research...just not King George...

King George censors whatever he disgrees with just like the scientists researching global warming...see link below....

Vitter and Clinton

Repub Koolaid drinkers...get your head out of among other things, last millennium, last century, last decade, and welcome yourselves to 2007...welcome to the 21st century...we know about Clinton...get over it...can't you come up with another note? another tune? and if you are such good Christians, why do you only "forgive" fellow Republicans and not Democrats? Did I miss the part of the bible that states only Repubs can be forgiven?...guess you are not the great Christian role models you pretend to be...let's see you can forgive Foley, Haggard, Vitter, Delay, Gingrich, jailbirds Cunningham, Ney, Scanlon, Abramoff, etc, so why not Clinton? you are Christians of convenience...the words fraud and hypocrite also come to mind...no wonder I am an atheist...

Gut Feeling Is to Puke

Strange, Darth Dick has repeatedly stated that 75% of al Qaeda senior leadership has been wiped out and al Qaeda has been weaken...guess he just got more bad intelligence...strange, we left Afganistan and Pakistan where al Qaeda and bin Laden are to invade a country, Iraq, that didn't have any al Qaeda or Taliban in the country until Bush, Dick, Dumsfeld, et al, destabilized Iraq...and strange, al Qaeda has reformed and is as strong as ever...what brilliant leadership...

No wonder Homeland Security Czar Chertoff has a gut feeling...but he doesn't raise the alert level, doesn't boost security, says we are vulnerable six years after 9-11...Haven't we made ourselves safer in the last six years under Bush's stellar leadership? Shouldn't we be less vulnerable now, six years after 9-11? Shouldn't we have solid intelligence? Chertoff should recruit some psychics to help augment his gut feelings...brilliant leadership...

The Senate on Wednesday voted against advancing a measure that would have restricted combat deployments by requiring that troops spend as much time at home as in battle. The 56-41 vote on the proposal by Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., fell four votes short of the 60 needed to cut off debate. Remember Repub Koolaid Drinkers that the Repubs voted against the troops today...voted against allowing our troops to be home as long as they were at war...at least the Dems supported the troops today...the Republicans failed again to support the troops ...just keep pushing the troops, keep extending their deployments...at least the Dems supported the troops and the bill...nice work Repubs...another one of the Repubs main talking points shot down...Walter Reed ring a bell too....at least some Repubs are growing some balls and breaking away from Bush....

Fun With Food

A series of posts for a blog I post on...I started the fun with food....

Even wonder why most of the Jesus and Mary images end up on E-Bay if they are so sacred? The Blessed Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich, the Jesus Christ Cross Potato Chip, the Jesus Christ Pierogi, The Weeping Jesus Rock, The Jesus on an Oyster, etc...what I am missing?...you would think people would turn them into sacred shrines...but no, their first thought is I can make money selling this on E-Bay...strange...Wonder if Jesus and Mary get a cut?

Me....

I just want to say that I don't see it about the Virgin Mary watermelon. It looks like a misshapen slab of raspberry gelato to me. Actually, my wife and I were wondering what PART of the Virgin Mary's anatomy that watermelon was supposed to look like...

Flipkid, Blue Stat

Do all these people realize that what they see on their food items, cloud formations, misshapen tree bark, etc., might not be Jesus but Charles Manson? I once saw a face on my slightly charred Chapati that resembled Jesus, but I was informed by the chef that it was not Jesus, but the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. I looked again and decided it was closer to Charlie. With a burning ember, I added a Swastika between the 'eyebrows', just to update it a bit, slathered on some curry sauce and lentils(who vaguely resembled the Left Field Crowd at Yankee Stadium), and ate it/them. It all depends on your point of view I guess.

Steve, Cedar Falls Iowa

I saw Bill 'O in my jello (lol) maybe I will see Ann Coulter in my split pea soup. Yuck, Peace, Denise! P.S. Maybe I will see Bushwhacked in my oatmeal.

DCOHN, Cleveland, Ohio

Steve...you mustn't play with the embers in your food...where are your manners!!! sounds like a Zappa song though...you crack me up...but, why didn't you sell Charlie on E-Bay?...the added feature of the "Swastika between the 'eyebrows'" would have gotten big bucks!!! Rage on!!!

DCohn...please save me the Coulter in the Pea Soup after your vision...I want to frame it and sell it on E-Bay to her twisted and tormented fans!!!

Me

Steve. Dude. You are peculiar in all the right ways. I won't be able to have my usual toast for breakfast tomorrow with out checkin' for Charlie. Thank you very very VERY much.

Todd, New Orleans, LA

Speaking of finding images in things, my dog just 'pinched a loaf' in the frint yard, and lo and behold, there was an image of Ann Coulter in it. Problem is, the dog turned around for a quick sniff and saw it, too. Went running into the woods loudly yapping and yowling his head off. This was three days ago, and I haven't seen him since!

Buzz, a.k.a "oh, where oh where can my Buzzy dog be?"

Aside from its' value as an accidental food decoration, the image of Jesus has been standardized as a tall, strawberry-blonde with green eyes. I attended a religious college and once postulated that Jesus nee Yeshua, was only Half-Jewish, on his Mother's side. His father was God. It was left to speculate from current Images of Jesus and current translations of the Greek Religion, what his Dad's ethnicity was? My guess was either Norwegian, Swedish, or possibly Lithuanian. Although there were Teutonic Guards in the area, guarding Peter O'Toole...I mean Roman Officials. One of them might have played God to the half-starved Mary, and Surrogate Angelic Father to the future Redeemer, Gott'n Himmel! Heilige Scheiss!. In the end, it doesn't really matter as people will put their own faces on the both of them...or THEM, if you prefer. Maybe Danish?

Buzz - kudos for the laugh. I think there's a turd in the cat box here that looks like Cheney. In fact, they ALL look like Cheney.

Sue, West Allis, Wisconsin

Sue- Do they SMELL like him, too? There, now that I'm on the FBI watch list (like I wasn't before...), I might as wall just say it; I bet your litterbox collection is smarter and less
ethically-challenged than Cheney, too.

Steve, I didn't find Charlie on the toast this morning, but I swear saw Squeaky Fromme in the jelly.

Wondering

Wondering...she is in EVERYBODYS JELLY. Her wandering ghost body is still trying to find the Colt/Browning .45 Automatic Instruction Booklet that shows her where the 'Safety' is. She had it at her last breakfast before her Assinine...I mean her Assassination Attempt on Gerald Ford. The Family has always been unprepared when it comes to firearms, having better luck with cutlery. I won't tell you who's in your ice cream. (OK...Sadie Mae Glutz!)

Only The Republicans Can Save America

On Aug. 7, 1974, Rep. John Rhodes of Arizona, Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona, and Senate Minority Leader Hugh Scott of Pennsylvania went to an office in the Old Executive Office Building for the now-famous meeting with President Nixon, and they forced President Nixon to resign since his support in the Senate had collapsed. ”There are only so many lies you can take, and now there has been one too many," complained Arizona's Conservative Barry Goldwater. "Nixon should get his ass out of the White House—today!"

What Republicans in 2007 will grow some balls and do the same to Bush and Chaney...Only when the Republicans break away like Goldwater, Rhodes, and Scott did, will the country get any relief from King George and Darth Dick...the Dems cannot do anything on there own simply because our Congress is built on votes...60 votes is the magical number in the Senate...the Dems only have 49 seats...only when the Republicans stand up to Bush and Dick, will the majority of the people who no longer support the Bush Administration feel like their voice matters...The House is 232-201 with the magic number around 287 votes...again, only when the Republicans stop being lemming, cowering before Darth Dick and Darth Rove, will the majority of the people who have lost faith in the Administration of Dick and Bush have their voice heard...rag on the Dems all you want and they are have many issues too, but over Government, the House and the Senate, revolve around votes…the Dems can yap and yak all they want, but only when the Republicans break ranks will Dr. Evil and Mini Me be forced to resign…Independence Day 2007….King George III has been replaced by King George and Darth Dick and there is nothing we the people can do…. Castrated Republicans...Inept Democrats...I am only eloquently barking at the moon...

Bush and Cheney are too arrogant, ignorant, and delusional to ever resign...only the Republicans can affect any change in America...What are the chances of that happening? Republicans are lemmings without any balls...They just do what they are told by Cheney and Rove...let the revolution in 2007 begin...

Independence Day

Independence Day 2007...a celebration of our country's freedom from the monarchy of King George...I wonder what Washington, John and Quincy Adams, Madison, Payne, Franklin, Jefferson, Hamilton, all the soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary War, those who died, those who were scarred, etc, would think of the new King George...What would they think of the perversion and bastardization of their ideals, ideas, laws, morals, values....their Constitution...their Bill of Rights...

Interesting that the idea of adding a bill of rights to the Constitution was originally controversial because the Constitution did not specifically enumerate or protect the rights of the people, rather it limited the rights of the government...there was worry a Bill of Rights would be interpreted as the only rights available to the people... I highly recommend The Federalist Papers by Hamilton, Madison, and Jay...the book was written as a response to the Anti-Federalists back in 1787-1788...The anti-Federalists were already worried that the Constitution merely replaced the King with a President...a King with the government...the foreshadowing by the Anti-Federalists has come true in Dick and Bush...

Libby Gets Communion

I cannot give anyone evidence of a conspiracy to out Valerie Plume because Libby was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice...Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald, a Bush appointee, was never able to get to the truth behind the conspiracy due to the lies and obstruction..."Sand was thrown in my face." to paraphase Fitzgerald...our judicial system, what justice is left, is based on truthful testimony, so was Fitzgerald's investigation...However, due to Libby lies and obstruction, the conspiracy to out a covert agent can never be proven or disproven...If Libby, Cheney, Bush, Rove, etc, had nothing to hide, why the perjury and obstruction? The truth will never be revealed...truth and Bushworld are mutually exclusive...The White House is under siege by subpoenas in the AG firings and the warrantless warrants, especially Card and Gonzales's midnight trip to Ashcroft's bed to circumvent Comey, Ashcroft's stand in...and now Libby's sentence is commuted...set against the back drop of terror attacks...is it me or does all this seem to convenient, to much coincidence...almost planned....

I wonder how much Cheney pushed King George into commuting Libby's sentence...Bush does Cheney's bidding...So Libby gets communion for his sins...an Appeals Panel of two Bush appointed Judges and One Dem Judge found nothing in the case to appeal...the jail sentence was well within the guidelines....nothing inappropriate had been found...the Bush appointed Prosecutor, the Bush Appointed Judge in the case, the Bush appointed Appeals Judges all acted within the law...Bush respected the verdict but felt it was wrong...Bush and Dick are above the law...no laws apply to them. Dick even has his own branch of government now outside of the executive branch....news to everyone, even his fellow Republicans...until the subpoenas came, then he returned to hide behind executive privilege...

Would anyone really be surprised if the alleged terrorists in Britain and Glasgow were on Cheney's payroll?

The last few months, whenever the White House or Cheney was faced with subpoenas, three groups of D-List terrorists have either thought about bizarre plans or have acted out a poorly hatched plan.....The only people killed in Glasgow and Britain were two of the terrorists...no innocence people were killed...we had the pizza delivery plan to shoot troops at a military base...troops armed and trained...then we had the geriatric terrorists, one a drug addict, one a part time homeless person, who planned to light a match around jet fuel, which isn't as flammable as they thought...nothing but distractions...nothing about Cheney would surprise me anymore...

Goodbye Brown, Goodbye Education

Justice Stephen Breyer's dissenting opinion on the integration ruling..."This is a decision that the court and the nation will come to regret...As a result, the decision reverses course and reaches the wrong conclusion. In doing so, it distorts precedent, it misapplies the relevant constitutional principles, it announces legal rules that will obstruct efforts by state and local governments to deal effectively with the growing resegration of public schools, it threatens to substitute for present calm a disruptive round of race-related litigation, and it undermines Brown's promise of integrated primary and secondary education that local communities have sought to make a reality"

Do you really think white schools in the south are voluntarily going to accept black students? They barely wanted to accept black students when they were forced to integrate...George Wallace and Bull Connor ring a bell...1963...47 years ago...and there are many George Wallaces and Bull Connors still in the south and north...Do you really think schools anywhere will voluntarily accept black, Hispanic, Muslim, or other minorities students after this ruling? Blacks have only had the right to vote for 43 years...Brown v Board of Education was 1954...with all the racism in America, to think Brown vs Board of Education has not lost its power with this ruling is naive...Even the NFL had to be forced into changing its hiring policies to ensure teams at least interview black coaches when position were open...and that was in 2003/2004...How you anyone can think southern schools, schools anywhere, will openly accept blacks students, minority students, after this ruling is beyond me...

The Louisville case was about a transfer of a kindergarten student brought by a white family...and the Seattle case was about a high school student...while the case my eventually apply to college, the ruling was mainly about K-12...for me college education is a different problem for a different rant...everyone should be able to get a quality high school education...that was the point of Brown...separate was not equal...and this ruling will lead to black schools and white schools...1954, 1963, 1964, the Civil Rights Acts, wasn't that long ago...2007 looks like a return to our past...

I can get the details, but in a survey in 2000, of 1708 senior executives in the private sector, there were three African Americans, two Asians, two Hispanics, three Indians, and eight women....18 of 1708 positions were filled with minorities...tell me racism and sexism doesn't exist...I bet the numbers are not that different in 2007...if minority children cannot get access to quality education in high school and with the weakening of Brown of Education, minorities will never have the same or equal chance whites have... minorities will never have the same or equal chance whites have to be executives, President, simply get an education...

Today the Supreme Court ruled against racial integration of our schools...Where is Bull Connor? Good Old John Roberts was again the lead Neocon and to quote the Chief Justice: "The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discrimination on the basis of race." Huh?...and he even invoked Brown vs Board of Education and said his ruling didn't overturn Brown...yet Brown declares "that the discriminatory nature of racial segregation violates the 14th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees all citizens equal protection under the laws"..."Brown v. Board of Education laid the foundation for shaping future national and international policies regarding human rights." Might was well Repeal Affirmative Action too...

So we are back to separate and not equal...White kids get the seats first, the hell with the black kids...why should they get a chance at an equal education...hell, let's just repeal the Civil Rights Acts too that them damn liberals fought for...let's just go back to lynching...them damn blacks aren't people anyway...bet the KKK is happy today...and yes, I was a victim of reverse discrimination once...I survived...and the person of color picked over me ended up doing an amazing job...maybe even better than I could have done...this Supreme Court and Bush and Dick will lead us back to the Dark Ages...

Revolution 2007

The American people don't matter...we elect 435 Congresspeople, 100 Senators, and the President and Vice President...the President picks his appointments and a very small group of people basically decide what is best for the American people...Over 70% of the American population wants to bring the troops home...How have our elected officials responded to our request? Over 70% of the American population wants stem cell research. King George vetoed the stem cell bill...The King's first veto in six years...the illusion of democracy makes us think our votes count, our voice counts, we matter...when in reality, 537 elected officials make decisions in the best interests of 300 million Americans...democracy has become an illusion...the voice of the people no longer matters...I may be to cynical...but our elected officials don't listen to the American people...only big business and lobbyists...our government decides the American cannot have access to prescription drugs from Canada and Europe because the drugs are not safe...like droves of Canadians and Europeans are dropping dead from prescription drugs...will Vioxx continues to kill people...Avandia increases heart problems...Paxil causes birth defects...Purdue Pharma just settled a lawsuit over its Oxycontin...the FDA and big pharm only have the best interests of the American people in mind...that is why they don't want us buying unsafe drugs from Canada and Europe when we can get plenty of overpriced and unsafe prescription drugs right here in America...not to mention marking up AIDS drugs to the point where patients cannot afford them when the drugs cost about $2 a pill...the American people just don't matter...No one explains the Presidential Directive that makes King George Dictator Bush...another story the American people the people will never totally hear about...we just don't matter...we are voiceless in Bushworld... If we don't revolt soon, our voices really won't matter...let the revolution begin...we need an American Revolution that mirrors the French Revolution...and I for one will lead the way...Can you hear the people sing, singing the songs of angry men...it's the music of the people who will not be slaves again...when the beating of your hearts, echoes the beating of the drums, there is a revolution about to start when tomorrow comes...will you join in our crusade, who will be strong and stand with me???

Hoax or Threat

A cynic speaks...since I live in New Jersey, we had the Fort Dix terror hoax or threat...one thing that amazed me was that in the video of the gang playing jihad, there were ten people playing and shooting...yet only six were arrested...60% ain't bad for Bushworld...but why no massive hunt for the other four? were they informants? were they non-dangerous jihadists? I never heard about the other four terror suspects in the video...ever..I wonder why?...plus, the gang was arrested when going to a gun fence to get their guns but neighbors said the alleged gun fence mysteriously had not been in the house the gang went to for over a month...Mohmaud, the gun fence, seemed more like a ghost than a gun runner...and there was no massive hunt for the Muslim gun dealer either...another informant? another part of the hoax? Plus, besides the stupidity of bringing the jihad tape to be transferred at the local Circuit City, would terrorists really attack a military base where everyone has guns? is armed and will fight back? And now, another threat/hoax...some experts say the fuel system would have shut itself down...some believe JFK would have exploded...whom to believe? neither story's terrorists were al Qeada or Taliban based...and the JFK gang was all in the 40s and 50s...not your typical terrorists...I want to believe Homeland Security has some clue...but Bush loves the terror card...loves to say see how safe my team is keeping America...I wish I wasn't such a cynic...anyone think this is all part of the mysterious Presidential Directive to keep King George as President in January 2009?

Privilege of Religion

In 2004, James Nixon, a 12 year old boy in Ohio, won the right in court to wear a T-shirt bearing the words 'Homosexuality is a sin, Islam is a lie, abortion is murder. Some issues are black and white!" The school told him not to wear the T-shirt--and the boy's parents sued the school. The parents might have had a conscionable case if they had based it on the First Amendment's guarantee of freedom of speech. But they didn't: indeed, they couldn't, because free speech is deemed not to include hate speech. But hate only has to prove it is religious, and it no longer counts as hate. So instead of freedom of speech, the Nixon's lawyers appealed to the constitutional right to freedom of religion. Their victorious lawsuit was supported by the Alliance Defense Fund of Arizona, whose business it it to press the legal battle for religious freedom."Jefferson's Wall of Separation between church and state crumbled under the weight of the evangelical right...religion for bigotry, hatred, and intolerance...sad...

Thomas Jefferson's Separation of Church and State point was "It was not the place of Congress or the Executive to do anything that might be misconstrued as the establishment of religion." Government should not approve or disapprove of religion. Government should not be influenced or in the business of religion. Religion should not be privileged like in the Supreme Court ruling in 2006 which stated that the Centro Espirita Beneficiente Uniao do Vegetal did not have to follow the laws of New Mexico against the taking of hallucinogenic drugs. The Church believed that they can understand God only by drinking hoasca tea, which contains the illegal hallucinogenic drug dimethyltrytamine, and the Supreme Court supported hallucinating for God and breaking the existing law. While the Supreme Court ruled in 2005, that all patients who use cannabis for medicinal purposes are vulnerable to federal prosecution even in the minority of states where such specialized use is legalized. The cannabis users had proof of their medical claims while the Church only had to say they believe the drug helps them understand God and were never required to supply any proof. Illegal drug use for God, no problem; Illegal drug use to relieve pain and suffering under medical control, wrong!!! Where is the separation of church and state Jefferson wrote about? The Church should be subject to the same laws as everyone else. Why don’t Churches have to pay taxes too? All the money that passes through them…Churches should be taxed like the rest of us…James Madison added this about the separation of church and state: “And I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in shewing that religion & Govt will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together

Founders and Framers were not Christians

Historian Robert Middlekauff, observed, "the idea that the Constitution expressed a moral view seems absurd. There were no genuine evangelicals in the Convention, and there were no heated declarations of Christian piety." Many of the founder fathers (Why no founding women?) were not Christians…Deism was the dominant religion of the 18th century. Deism believes in a watchmaker that wound up the universe. Voltaire wrote “God is no more moral than God is blue or square.” Deists regard their faith as a natural religion, as contrasted with one that is revealed by a God or which is artificially created by humans. Deists reason that since everything that exists has had a creator, and then the universe itself must have been created by the natural laws of God. Thomas Paine concluded a speech shortly after the French Revolution with: "God is the power of first cause, nature is the law, and matter is the subject acted upon.” Ironically, Deists detested atheism. John Adams, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Payne, and many other founders were all Deists not Christians. They didn’t believe in a personal God; they believed in the laws of nature and reason. All were highly critical of organized religion. Jefferson’s latest biography even argues he was an atheist.

As proof here is an excerpt from a document called the Treaty of Tripoli from the end of Washington’s last term as President. The document was unanimously approved by the Senate: "As the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries." (Mehomitan means Muslim. The Treaty was with Libya. Amazing how much as changed over the last two hundred plus years.) Lastly, there were no protests by anyone over the USA was not founded on the Christian religion.

Nowhere in the Constitution is there a single mention of Christianity, God, Jesus, or any Supreme Being, and there are only two references to religion. Lastly, the God in the Declaration of Independence does not describe Christianity's God, but the Deist’s God of natural law and reason. Any attempt to use the Declaration as a support for Christianity is tenuous at best.
Thomas Paine wrote the following: “I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek Church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my church. " and "Of all the systems of religion that ever were invented, there is no more derogatory to the Almighty, more unedifiying to man, more repugnant to reason, and more contradictory to itself than this thing called Christianity. “

John Adams flatly denied the doctrine of eternal damnation. In a letter to Thomas Jefferson, he wrote: "I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved -- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!"

Ben Franklin wrote: "Some books against Deism fell into my hands. . . It happened that they wrought an effect on my quite contrary to what was intended by them; for the arguments of the Deists, which were quoted to be refuted, appeared to me much stronger than the refutations; in short, I soon became a Deist."

Madison wrote that “During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."
Jefferson in many of his letters denounced the superstitions of Christianity. He did not believe in spiritual souls, angels or godly miracles. Although Jefferson did admire the morality of Jesus, Jefferson did not think him divine, nor did he believe in the Trinity or the miracles of Jesus. In a letter to Peter Carr, 10 August 1787, he wrote, "Question with boldness even the existence of a god." Jefferson believed in materialism, reason, and science. He never admitted to any religion but his own. In a letter to Ezra Stiles Ely, 25 June 1819, he wrote, "You say you are a Calvinist. I am not. I am of a sect by myself, as far as I know."

There is a myth that the founders and framers of our nation were Christians, Evangelical Christians, or Christians of any kind. Deism was the dominant religion in the 18th century not Christianity. The writings of many of the founders reveal they were Deists, not Christians, and they were extremely critical of Christianity. Thanks for letting me rant.

Memorial Day Reflection

I am three quarters Italian...my homeland is an area in Tuscany...hard to find a more beautiful area...one day I will finally see Florence and the home of the Medici...interesting group of people the Medici...be amazing to find a villa to live on...With the 'Net, I can still blog...I will get to my homeland soon...after fighting for 48 years, or at least thirty years since I turned 18, I am tried of banging my head against the wall...I know if I stop banging my head, the headache will go away!!! But I really don't think the American people have a voice anymore...we just don't matter...we have blogs to vent on, but the politicians do what big business wants...unless we get to vote on the issues, I just don't believe the two party system works anymore...if one party lead by King George can rape and rewrite the Constitution, Democracy is starting to fail...when the Democrats have lost the power to fight back, the system is failing...when 70% of American wants to bring the troops home and our voice is ignored by both parties, we have ceased to matter...another 500 soldiers will die by September...billions of more dollars wasted...I went back and read about how Vietnam was defunded and it took about three years of fighting with Nixon...I hope this war can get defunded in less time...I am a persistent person...but there is a fine line between persistent and stupidity...look at King George...retreat is not surrender...I am starting the process of selling my house but with the current market, plus I have to convince my brother to sell our "homestead", I just may pack up and leave....my brother can rent the house...I close friend, a life long Republican who left the party because of Bush, Chaney, and Rove, sold her house, moved to Costa Rica, teaches English as a second language and couldn't be happier....she loves Costa Rice...I am ready to move there too....I could live in the mountains, teach English, which I have done for twelve years at the community college level, would be amazing...so day by day I plan to leave the madness behind...I feel like I am walking away, but I am tried of being voiceless...I feel it is simply time to move on...maybe Ed, Ruthann, CA, Pam, Jamie, Steve in Iowa, Bill, Todd, and the rest of the gang, can buy an island somewhere and leave in Freedom and PEACE...Memorial Day is here...my dad was killed in Vietnam...for the 3400 plus killed in Iraq, the 385 plus killed in Afghanistan, and all the others who have died since the USA fought for its freedom back in the 1770s and all the others who have served this Country and our serving today and over this weekend, we need to say THANK YOU and remember them this weekend...kept them close to our hearts...and hope all our politicians find a conscience...

Bush, War, and Dems

The Dems did make a lot of noise after the election without having the votes to back up the noise...Did I miss something after the 2006 election when the Dems had only something like a 232-201 majority in the House, far from the 287 votes needed to override a King George veto...and the Dems also had a slim 50 seats plus one independent Democrat who votes Republican to 49 majority...far from the 66 votes needed to override the King's veto...I was saying back in December 2006 the Dems don't have the juice or power to get the Republicans to break away from the King and influence the war policy and funding...the King is to stubborn to change his mind even when something like 70% of Americans want to start bringing our troops home...Did anyone really think the Dems would get Bush to sign a bill with timelines and withdrawal dates or have his fellow Republicans jump ship and override the King's veto?...the Republicans are lemming heading to the ocean in mass...all the Dems could do is keep sending the same bill to the King until the funding for the troops was a real issue and try to blame Bush for vetoing all the bills with all the money he requested and hope more people blame the King and the Republicans who continue to support him instead of blaming the Dems...the Dems had two choices in my mind: the Dems could simply send the King a bill with no withdrawal dates or even benchmarks with teeth, basically give the King what the King wants...or keep sending the King bills he would only veto and the Dems won't have the votes to override the King and either way we all lose, especially the troops, since the troops would be underfunded eventually while still fighting...when did the Dems ever have the power to end the war without the help of the Republicans? Again, what did I miss?...and the Republicans, probably lead by Doctors Evil, Chaney and Rove, kept the lemming Republicans in line...did anyone really think the Dems could end the war themselves without having the votes in the Senate or the House to take on the King...I never thought the Dems had a chance to make any noise...if anything, the Dems didn't want to risk being the ones who cut off funding for the troops...and how many of us want the troops not funded while they are still fighting the civil war in Iraq...What options did the Dems really have? Keep rolling the rock up the hill and have it fall back down on them? How long could they really do that? Edwards can saying send the King the same bill but he doesn't have to run for re-election in the House or Senate...Trust me, I have lost faith in the two party system...neither party is doing the will of the people...only maneuvering for position in the 2008 election...which is the real crime....worrying about re-elections and positioning for the 2008 presidential election, instead of listening to the majority of the American people...the Dems should take their share of the blame...the King called their bluff...what does the King have to lose? He is already naked...the lemmings are too afraid to hold the King accountable...and the Dems never had the power to influence policy...the Dems keep rolling the rock up the hill and the rock keeps falling on them, on the American people, the troops, and the two party system...and now the King trots out the war horse that al Qaeada in Iraq wants to kill Americans...information from 2005...and why are we suppose to believe the King now after all his lies...shocking that al Qaeda wants its followers to kill Americans...all the King has is the fear card...and his lies... information from 2005 he disclassifies to give a commencement speech!

Dems And GOP Need to Ban Together

The Dems don't have any balls, but the larger problem (pun intended) is the Dems don't have enough votes to influence policy...the Dems only have a simple majority...not a 2/3ths majority needed to override the King and actually influence policy about the Iraq War and override the GOP...the Republicans need to grow some balls too and stand up to King George like the Republicans did to Nixon and his bombing of Cambodia...the Democrats cannot fight the battle alone...Some Republicans are slowly breaking away, and only when more Republicans break away will the House and the Senate finally have the power to override the King and get our troops out of the civil war in Iraq and let them fight the real war on terror around the world...the Taliban and al Qaeda are mainly in the mountains of Pakistan and Afghanistan...yes, there are some "terrorists" in Iraq but they are not the majority of the people fighting the US troops and the insurgency...far from a majority...the idea the Taliban will take over Iraq is ludicrous...the Shiite are 60% of the population...the Sunni around 25%...like the Shiite and Sadr and going to let their life-long enemies take over Iraq when the Shiite want to take the country after Saddam's reign...Am I missing something about that fear induced rhetoric the terrorists will take over Iraq when we leave? The Shiite are simply going to surrender? If the Taliban and al Qaeda continue to fight for control of Iraq, the civil war will go on for decades...while the majority of the Taliban and al Qaeda, the real terrorists who bombed America, live and reform in Pakistan and Afghanistan...as I have stated many times, the war on terror needs to be fought around the world not in Iraq which had no terrorists in it before Bushworld decided to destabilize Iraq...the "terrorists" in Iraq are too busy fighting the Shiite and other Sunnis to bomb America...however, the "terrorists" in Pakistan and Afghanistan and around the world need our attention...until the Dems and GOP fight together, King George will continue to rule...

Insanity And The Terrorist In Bushworld

The whole Iraq situation is just nuts...someone help me!!! Chaney goes to the Middle East to talk with Maliki and the gang and Chaney states things are improving and there is a greater sense of urgency among the Iraqis...then senior Iraqi officials fly to Washington to meet one-on-one with members of Congress to say leaving Iraq would be disastrous...then a majority of the Iraqi Parliament votes to end the US resolution and wants to set a timeline for US troops to leave...Huh? then the US Government Accountability Office issues a draft stating that between 100,000 and 300,000 barrels a day of Iraq's declared oil production over the last four years are unaccounted for and could have been siphoned off through corruption or smuggling...something like 5 to 15 million dollars a day....another theory is the Iraqis are just making up the production numbers...while US gas prices seem to go up everyday and are well over $3 a gallon in some areas...then the US doesn't want the Iraqi Parliament to take two months off during the summer while the US Congress takes August off...seems to be democracy is taking hold in Iraq...what am I missing? McNulty resigns: Gonzales still has no clue...a known terrorist, Luis Posada Carriles, who is linked to a series of deadly attacks, including the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airline heading to Venezuela that killed 73 people, is in the US illegally. Carriles was being held on immigration charges, but a federal judge dismissed the immigration charges, and now Carriles is free and the US is harboring a known terrorist. A Massachusetts Congressman even questioned Gonzales at his latest hearing about the Carriles case and of course, Gonzo barely knew anything and said he would check into the situation. The US District Judge, Kathleen Cardone, stated the "US government practiced fraud, deceit, and trickery when it interviewed Posada," and she had no choice but to set him free. Gonzo's Justice Department doing more crack work...Plus the Bush administration refuses to extradite Carriles to Cuba or Venezuela. One theory is Carriles was a member of the US Special Services for many years, and knows to many secrets. What a country under Bushworld...

Gonzales and Card's Bedside Meeting

King George personally killed a Justice Department internal probe into the Ashcroft bed side meeting...King George simply denied investigators security clearance and the internal probe was killed. What I find amazing is that Ashcroft even told King George what he doing with the warrantless wiretaps was illegal...Last time I checked, Ashcroft has drank the koolaid and is a life long conservative...Even Robert Mueller, the director of the CIA was willing to resign because of what Bush and Gonzales and Card were trying to do! Even the US Justice Department considered the program illegal...US law makes it a crime to order domestic surveillance without a warrant. But King George went ahead and ordered the program and renewed it 30 times...and the Justice Department even told King George the warrantless wiretaps were illegal...as Jonathan Turley, a constitution lawyer said, "This would be a clear impeachable offense. I don't know of a more clear potential charge of impeachment with the modern presidency." How anyone can continue to support King George simply amazes me... I just hope the Democrats can get their act together and win the 2008 election...but I really don't think Hillary or Obama can win...we live in a racist and sexist and homophobic country...the swing votes the Democrats need to win may not be ready to vote for a woman or a black man...I hope I am wrong...

Dems And GOP Need To Band Together

I agree the Dems don't have any balls, but the larger problem (pun intended) is the Dems don't have enough votes to influence policy...the Dems only have a simple majority...not a 2/3ths majority needed to override the King and actually influence policy about the Iraq War and override the GOP...the Republicans need to grow some balls too and stand up to King George like the Republicans did to Nixon and his bombing of Cambodia...the Democrats cannot fight the battle alone...Some Republicans are slowly breaking away, and only when more Republicans break away will the House and the Senate finally have the power to override the King and get our troops out of the civil war in Iraq and let them fight the real war on terror around the world...the Taliban and al Qaeda are mainly in the mountains of Pakistan and Afghanistan...yes, there are some "terrorists" in Iraq but they are not the majority of the people fighting the US troops and the insurgency...far from a majority...the idea the Taliban will take over Iraq is ludicrous...the Shiite are 60% of the population...the Sunni around 25%...like the Shiite and Sadr and going to let their life-long enemies take over Iraq when the Shiite want to take the country after Saddam's reign...Am I missing something about that fear induced rhetoric the terrorists will take over Iraq when we leave?

Four Years After President Bush Announced Mission Accomplished In Iraq

May 1st, 2007...four years after King George announced mission accomplished on the USS Abraham Lincoln...four years after major combat operations in Iraq had ended according to King George all decked out in his flight gear on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln...if the mission was accomplished, what have the troops been doing for the last four years? Four years later, April 2007 will have one of the highest monthly death totals for US soldiers since the mission was accomplished back in April 2003...Four years later and still no end in sight after major combat operations were completed...the last four years have been only minor combat operations which have killed over 3,000 US soldiers...Keep up the good work King George...a four year reminder of the incompetence of Bush, Chaney, Wolfowitz, Dumsfeld, Rice, etc...

Religion and Science

Yes I am an atheist...but I am not a nihilist...I wish people were more connected instead of divided. I wish compassion hasn't been replaced with condemnation...I try to leave a situation better than I found it...To quote Spock: The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few or the one...I realize faith, organized religion, and science are three distinct entities...The world has battled between science and religion for centuries. Galileo was jailed for his science. Religious dogma wanted the earth to be the center of the universe until science finally prevailed. Most scientists today accept the science of global warming, yet some disagree. Bush even muzzled scientists who were proving global warming; he made them rewrite their data. Reminds of me Galileo recanting his science under pressure from the Church. Science has cured disease after disease, gave us nuclear technology, but nuclear technology lead to Hiroshima and Nagasaki too...Science is a two edge sword, but so is religion...how many people have died in the name of Christianity? The Crusades and the Inquisitions come to mind...our Christian nation systemically destroyed the Native American culture...not very Christian...then the Christian nation enslaved and lynched black people for decades...even reached the conclusion after the Civil War that blacks were 3/5ths of a person...again, not very Christian. Religion is a wedge dividing the world...we have Born Again Yappists as I call them, stating that Catholics are not Christians...the arrogance...what if God and Jesus hate the whole Protestant Reformation? Religion has become my God is bigger than your God...I am saved; you are condemned...But again personal faith is different than Big Religion...Religion, like science is a series of tradeoffs...my faith is in passion, compassion, humor, creativity, and the seasons...I prefer to roll with the changes of the season...the warmth of summer, the chill of winter...I want politicians to represent the people and not Big Business and Lobbyists...I also realized that the people hardly matter anyone...look at Bushworld and King George...Bipartisan to Bush is simply agreeing with him...I hope we change the path we are on...return to a interconnectedness...one world, one people...ain't gonna happen though..we are all out for ourselves...I wish I wasn't cynical...hell, I don't even fit in with the atheists...I have no problem with children saying the Pledge of Allegiance with one nation under god…although I wonder how many people know “under God” wasn’t added to the Pledge of Allegiance until 1954 as a way to differentiate the suddenly god-fearing USA from the godless Soviet Union. Apparently, god wasn’t important enough to be added to the Allegiance until then…strange since the Pledge’s first incarnation was in 1892! I cringe at the intolerance in America...ban Imus, the word nigger, while racism lives on...Blacks have only had the right to vote for less than 50 years...in a Christian nation...I wonder if gay people are only 2/5ths of a person...I realize the simple idea of we are born in pain, live in pain, die in pain, then become worm fodder isn’t as elegant as a Genesis to Revelation…No justice, no heaven, no reward, no forgiveness is one bleak story...I want to take that leap of faith, but I simply continue to find reasons to live, love, laugh, and heal in a broken world...I enjoy life everyday despite the insanity...most people talk about the glass half full or half empty...I simply see a glass with water in it...not empty or full...I am glad the glass ain't empty since I am thirsty...I hope people wake up and connect to each other again...I wish I had more faith...To quote RD Laing: It is better to insane in a sane world, than be sane in an insane world...

Vietnam and Iraq: Are Soldiers Dying For Nothing Or Something?

My father died in Vietnam when I was seven in 1965. I have struggled since his death with did he die for nothing...when the last American soldier left in 1975, North Vietnam took over South Vietnam...so, in one way he did die for nothing...but he also wrote a letter than ended up being printed in newspapers around the country since he died in 1965 in one of the first big offensives. Dad wrote, ‘The reason I am fighting communism now is so my sons, George and Mike, won't have to five, ten years from now.' His words still give me a sense of peace most days that he died for something he believed in...two years after the death of JFK and three years removed from the Cuba Missile crisis...Many soldiers believed his words. I am grateful he didn't end up going and dying much later, say in 1972 when all the lies and deception were exposed about Vietnam...much like the lies and deception that surround Iraq...fighting another civil to establish a government that doesn't have the total support of the its country's people...the soldiers doing their jobs should always be supported and kept separate from the war machine politics that create war...I believe many soldiers are fighting and dying today like my dad for something they believe in...keeping America from experiencing another 9-11, preserving freedom, whatever they need to believe in...at least I want to believe that despite the ill-conceived notions of our government for invading Iraq...the mystery bullet fired at the US Maddox in the Gulf of Tonkin started the Vietnam Police action...war was never declared in Vietnam hence the War Powers Act...the weapons of mass deception and Iraq's phantom connection to 9-11 fueled the invasion of Iraq...we can and should disagree with the reasons for the Iraq War...we still have a first amendment right to address our grievances to the government...But I know the soldiers are at least dying for something they believe in, some ideal beyond a bungled war...whether they agree with the war or not they continue to fight and die...I would think most families believe their husbands, wives, sons, and daughters are fighting for something...even most of us have doubts..I have all the respect in the world for our soldiers. But I detest the politics that create war. I hope the soldiers start to return home soon before more die fighting a civil war only Bush, Chaney, and the diehard Bushworld supporters think we can win...

Virginia Tech Massacre Part Two

I still disagree that guns kill people... And before anyone thinks I support the NRA, I have never owned a gun, never shot a gun, and I have campaigned for the Brady Bill and the banning of assault weapons. The statement guns kill people is too simplistic. Guns are the means for people to kill, but something snaps in their minds before they reach for the gun. Before a trigger is pulled, a mind finds a reason, a twisted reason, to end life and pick up the gun...My point is we need to find a way to stop people before they can pull a trigger. But how? How do we defuse the internal time bombs ticking in people's minds? How can we stop the time bombs? There are reports the killer blamed the victims, saying something to the affect you made me do this...The killer wrote a note railing against "rich kids," "debauchery," and "deceitful charlatans." My point is the 23 year old snapped. But can you really blame the NRA for a 23 year old student snapping? What happen, what experiences made him devalue life? What made him think his life and the lives of others was meaningless. What made him lash out in a desperate attempt for attention? What made him blame the victims for his rage? Guns played a part, the end game, but the killer's time bomb is the reason he pulled the trigger, set the events into action. Tightening the gun laws will help, but it appears he obtained the guns legally. His weapons of choice were two handguns. If he strapped a bomb to his chest and walked into the building or dorm or cafeteria and killed innocent people, would the crime be less heinous? We couldn't blame lack of gun control or the NRA for the bombing. My point is after years of studying human behavior, no one knows or can predict what will make an individual person snap and go on a killing spree, gun or bomb in hand...Jeffery Dahmer didn't use a gun. Another tortured mind, a ticking time bomb. Timothy McVeigh used explosives to make his statement. People can kill in many ways. We have done so for centuries. The invention of gunpowder was the beginning of the end. I detest our gun culture, using guns to solve problems, but gun control is only one part of the solution. I wish guns were the sole reason the student killed, but before his rampage, a series of events happened causing a mind to snap before he bought and used the guns. His mind exploded. If the massacre at Virginia helps to tighten gun control laws, keeping ticking time bombs from getting guns, maybe the students' deaths won't be in vain. But the larger question is how to detect minds ticking on the brink...The killer displayed signs. One professor tried to intervene. The police said they couldn't do anything. I wish I had an answer. Guns are only one way for killers to kill...I detest the NRA, always will. But if the killer used dynamite, poison, or fire, whom would we blame? My heart goes out to all the victims at Virginia Tech and all the victims of violent crime across the country. I would prefer a gun-less America, but the second amendment won’t be repealed. The first and fourth amendments can get repealed, just not the second. More importantly, I would prefer a world where everyone values life no matter the static in their lives..."There is always madness in love, but there is also always a reason in madness." Nietzsche

Stop Blaming the Victims

Neal Boortz should face down a lunatic pointing two guns at him one day, see how he responses...Has anyone read where Cho actually lined up students against the wall? I haven't...so Neal is making up the story besides being out of touch with reality. Most accounts I have heard and read Cho walked into classrooms and opened fire. If you are sitting in a seat, not near the shooter, how can you rush him? Doesn't getting closer to a madmen with two guns make you an easier target? John Derbyshire wrote Cho only had a 22 caliber weapon. DUH!!! I spoke with some friends who have guns and they all said a .22 will bring you down from even 50 feet...As for the Flight 93 comparison, last time I checked the hijackers/terrorists didn't have guns blazing, only box cutters...I would like to think I would fight for my life. But if I was thirty feet away, sitting down, how much of a fight could I have really put up? Lastly, the idea of counting the numbers of rounds going off and then rushing him when he reloads is insane. Reloading only takes seconds number one, and I have no idea how many rounds each gun holds!!! If he had a musket or a blackpowder gun, you could rush him. Reloading those types of guns does take time...Changing a clip takes two seconds maybe three...How close could anyone have really gotten...The compassion of the right wing is amazing...

Tragedy in Blacksburg

Irrational acts cannot be understood in rational terms...What makes, causes someone to snap? Are we all capable of losing control and just lashing out at the world? I hope the answer is no, but I also believe we all have a breaking point. No explanation can make sense of someone killing so many innocent people at Virginia Tech...No explanation will ever give comfort to the families, to Blacksburg, to me...The sun will rise tomorrow, and I hope people close to the edge, with guns in hand, who have a plan in mind to lash out and kill, find meaning somewhere...realize how delicate life is...cling to life and not death...I am all for gun control, but I also know all the laws in the world will not stop someone from imploding and exploding, acquiring a gun, and setting out on a reign of terror, murder, and suicide...How can someone find life so meaningless?...How can someone feel so detached?...I just hope the tragedy at Virginia Tech doesn't further divide the country...Imus did...Bushworld does...Republicans and Democrats do…We don't need more reasons to further divide our country...We need something to unite us...Not cause us to drift further apart...Can we create a world were people don't feel marginalized, hopeless, and desensitized? The gunmen does need to be held accountable for his actions and motives...But let's not indict everyone who owns a gun...We all don't snap...We somehow find a way to cope...We find a creative way to vent...Whatever reasons the murderer had for his rampage are not reasons to indict the music or film industry...as much as I hate to admit it, the NRA too...We all want to assign blame...Assigning blame will only create more of a schism in America...One person snapped for reasons we won't understand...Maybe we just cannot...Let’s hold him accountable, for there is no need for everyone to point fingers anywhere else and create a bigger wedge...I want to believe humor and love are stronger than pain and hatred...a tragedy can unite or divide...
