Independence Day 2007...a celebration of our country's freedom from the monarchy of King George...I wonder what Washington, John and Quincy Adams, Madison, Payne, Franklin, Jefferson, Hamilton, all the soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary War, those who died, those who were scarred, etc, would think of the new King George...What would they think of the perversion and bastardization of their ideals, ideas, laws, morals, values....their Constitution...their Bill of Rights...
Interesting that the idea of adding a bill of rights to the Constitution was originally controversial because the Constitution did not specifically enumerate or protect the rights of the people, rather it limited the rights of the government...there was worry a Bill of Rights would be interpreted as the only rights available to the people... I highly recommend The Federalist Papers by Hamilton, Madison, and Jay...the book was written as a response to the Anti-Federalists back in 1787-1788...The anti-Federalists were already worried that the Constitution merely replaced the King with a President...a King with the government...the foreshadowing by the Anti-Federalists has come true in Dick and Bush...
